One-Session Potter’s Wheel Workshops

These one-night workshops at Hands On Pottery are the ideal way to experience what it’s like to create something out of clay using the Potter’s Wheel. We will show you how to transform lumps of clay into cups and bowls. Once you’ve finished throwing your pieces on the wheel, you will choose your favourite one, and our team will glaze it in the colour of your choosing. You’ll have your finished masterpieces within 3-4 weeks, once we’ve glazed and fired it in the kiln!

These classes are suitable for total beginners who have never ever touched a piece of clay before.

Scheduled every Friday & Saturday nightS in june & july - 6:15pm-8:45pm

WEEKLY WHEEL CLASSES

In our Beginner Potter’s Wheel classes, you’ll explore multiple techniques to create with clay using the Potters Wheel. You’ll learn how to make a wide variety of pieces including mugs, bowls, vases and more. Each student can use 15 to 25 pounds of clay (depending on class type) during the duration of the class. Students will also learn how to finish their pieces, including trimming, handling and how to maintain a safe studio environment. The session wraps up with a glazing lesson on your last class!

These classes are 2.5 hours long and are suitable for total beginners who have never ever touched a piece of clay before, and for those looking to practice and refine their skills. Intermediate classes will be specified - the rest are ideal for beginner students!

6 Session Classes:

• Potter's Wheel Express June:

  • Mon/Wed - June 1/8/15/17/22/29

  • Tue/Thurs - June 9/11/16/18/23/30

• Potter's Wheel Express July:

  • Mon/Wed - July 6/8/13/15/20/27

  • Tue/Thurs July 7/9/14/16/21/28

Our Potter's Wheel Express classes are perfect for those who want the full experience of a 6-class session but aren't available for 6 consecutive weeks. Come for 6 Sessions in 1 month and still have time for your summer activities!

4 Session Classes :

• Sundays (Afternoon), June 14th - July 5th

• Sundays (Afternoon), July 12th - August 2nd

Handbuilding CLASSES & worshops

Hand-building is a great way to explore many of the techniques humans have used for thousands of years to create functional and decorative objects out of clay. You can learn multiple ways to make a wide variety of pieces including mugs, bowls, vases, planters and more - either in our Weekly Hand-building Classes, or our One Session Workshops!

These classes are 2.5 or 3 hours long and are suitable for total beginners who have never ever touched a piece of clay before.

4 Week Class Schedule:

• Saturdays, May 30th/June 6th/13th/27th

Handbuilding Guided Access:

• Saturday Morning Guided Access: July 11th - Aug 1st, 10:00am - 1:00pm
